Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Beauty Monitor (“we”, “our”) is an industry-intelligence dashboard for the UK beauty market. This privacy notice explains how we handle data when you visit our website.

Data we collect

  • Anonymous analytics via Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — page views, performance metrics, and referrer (no personal identifiers, no cookies that track across sites).
  • Authentication data if you choose to create an account: email address and a hashed password, stored in Supabase. We do not share this data with anyone.
  • Server logs (IP address, user agent, request path) retained briefly by Vercel for abuse prevention.

How we use your data

Anonymous analytics help us understand which insights are most useful and improve performance. Authentication data is used solely to provide your account. We do not sell, trade, or profile data for marketing.

Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Vercel Analytics uses a cookie-less measurement approach. Authenticated sessions use a single first-party cookie required for login.

Third-party services

  • Vercel — hosting and analytics (privacy policy)
  • Supabase — database and authentication (privacy policy)
  • Anthropic — AI for editorial summaries (server-side only; no user data sent)
  • YouTube embeds from product review videos (loaded only when you click play; uses youtube-nocookie.com where possible)

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any account data we hold by emailing nathanimhasly@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS with HSTS. We apply Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, and other security headers on every response. Security issues can be reported via our security.txt.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
